Is The Esprit MOTIV-8 Exercise Spin Bike A Good Starting Point For Home Use?
This product is no longer available. You can find a newer model here.
The Esprit MOTIV-8 Exercise Spin Bike is an exercise spin bike for intense training in the home. It is designed to help users “lose weight, build up your stamina, increase your speed.”.
It appears to do so with a compact frame, stabilised base, small flywheel, adjustable handlebars, saddle and a console for data. This is about all that users really require, in theory.
This is also a good looking model that wouldn’t look out of place in spin class, with some nice colour options and details. There are clearly plenty of reasons to buy this but, are users impressed with what they receive.
How beneficial has this Esprit MOTIV-8 been to people that want to start spinning at home?
There are some nice user-friendly features in this Esprit exercise bike to encourage those that want to get into spinning at home, but may be a little apprehensive. The 10 kg flywheel may seem a little small, but the company claim it is ideal for this purpose.
There is also the use of the adjustable handlebars, the user weight capacity of 120kg and an emergency stop system. The console is fairly easy to read and control, if a little basic.
It provides data on calories, distance, speed, scan and time elapsed. Most seem to find that it is comfortable. Also, this approach to training seems to be working for some, as there are comments about weight loss and improved tone.
Then there is the clear sales promise of a high-end build quality. This generally seems to be the case, as there are no concerns about the parts breaking and buyers can pedal at speed without worrying about it tipping over.
It stays secure, even for those at the higher end of the weight limit. In addition to this, there doesn’t seem to be any concern about the noise produced – although many admit to having their headphones in while using it.
There is nothing particularly special in the features here, just a sturdy bike for home use.
What problems have users experienced with this Esprit MOTIV-8 Exercise Spin Bike?
The negative comments for this bike show a few issues with the assembly. The instructions were not very good and there were some issues getting the parts to go together.
The biggest problem here seems to the height adjustment. While there are many buyers saying that they have no problem getting on and off this bike, they tend to be on the taller side. The lowest seat height could still be an issue for those closer to 5ft.
Summary: is this Esprit Spin Bike still recommendable with these issues in mind?
There is the sense here that this is something of a basic model. There are no special features or major selling points to the bike that really make it stand out. Yet, this may be its main appeal here.
Despite the issues with the assembly and the height adjustment, there is the sense that pretty much anyone can purchase it and get along with this bike. It is easy to use, strong, reliable and, best of all, it does seem to get results.
This means that the Esprit MOTIV-8 exercise bike is highly recommendable for newcomers looking to spin at home.
