Exerpeutic GOLD 525XLR Recumbent Exercise Bike

Is The Exerpeutic GOLD 525XLR Recumbent Exercise Bike More Accessible?

Exerpeutic GOLD 525XLR Folding Recumbent Exercise BikeRecumbent exercise bikes like the Exerpeutic GOLD 525XLR Recumbent Exercise Bike are an appealing option for all those that want to work out with more comfort and support.

Users can lean back and take most of the strain off as they work out.

The design of this model is different from others because of the thought that has gone into the frame. But, is there more to this stationary bike to wow users beyond comfort and stability?

The Pros and Cons of this Exerpeutic GOLD 525XLR Recumbent Exercise Bike.

Pros:

  •  The size and comfort of the recumbent seat
  •  The low-profile and support of the frame
  •  Easy for new users

Cons:

  •  Not much room to progress with the resistance
  •  Potential issues with the armrests and console

There are two factors with this Exerpeutic GOLD 525XLR Recumbent Exercise Bike that make it stand out from other indoor folding bikes.

The first factor is that seat. Not only is there a semi-recumbent chair here rather than a basic saddle, but that chair is also large and more supportive than most. There is a tall backrest with padding and wide seat cushion.

The arms at the side are lower down so that it is easier for users to step on and off. There is also the benefit that the seat is height adjustable for those between 5ft2 and 6ft5.

The other standout feature here is a lower profile of the folding frame. A cheaper x-frame folding bike can feel quite tall and flimsy.

They don’t have the same feel of accessibility for the shorter or less able user. This model is different as it is closer to the ground and feels for stability.

The addition of the leg stabilisers helps here. There is also a 400lb weight capacity which is more than you might expect. Despite all of this, the bike machine still folds away neatly into a compact shape for storage.

There are some issues with the design of this Exerpeutic GOLD 525XLR that means it won’t suit everyone.

A possible downside here is how simple the workout is. There aren’t that many options or settings to work through, as there are just 8 resistance settings. The 8th level might not be enough for those that are already quite fit.

Then there is the simple console with its LCD display. Users get data on their speed, distance, time and more. There is a pulse setting thanks to sensors in the handlebars.

But, the lower position of the bars means that they might not be comfortable for everyone. Also, be aware that the console requires batteries. If it dies mid-session then you could lose all your progress.

How does this all affect the final recommendation for this Exerpeutic Recumbent Bike?

In the end, this gym bike is still recommendable to the right user. The highlights come in the accessibility of the frame and the folding mechanisms rather than the intensity of the workout.

Therefore, this could be a great choice for anyone that needs something a little more stable and comfortable that they can use at home.

Those that don’t expect too much from this bike seem to use it with ease to keep up with their fitness goals. Therefore, the Exerpeutic exercise bike could have more worth than it first appears.
