JLL RE200 Recumbent Exercise Bike

Is A JLL RE200 Recumbent Exercise Bike Suitable For Those With Mobility Issues?

JLL RE200 Recumbent Exercise Bike For HomeThe JLL RE200 Recumbent Exercise Bike stands out from some other recumbent bikes because of the considerations in the design of the frame and seat.

There are also some other aspects of the specification that suggest this will be great for those with disabilities or injuries. Is this the case?

The Pros and Cons of this JLL RE200 Recumbent Exercise Bike.

Pros:

  •  A nice low step-through design for those with mobility issues.
  •  Adjustable resistance levels and a bi-directional motion for better rehabilitation sessions.
  •  Some helpful data including a pulse reading.

Cons:

  •  The console area is as basic as expected for this price point and purpose.
  •  Some issues with the bike due to its size and weight.

The JLL RE200 Recumbent Exercise Bike has a great design for those with mobility issues.

The most interesting thing about this JLL exercise bike is the step-through design. This isn’t a rarity for this sort of recumbent bike. However, the features are exaggerated here.

There isn’t the usual frame of an exercise bike. Instead, there are two separate parts on one base. The seat sits apart with nothing for less-able users to step over.

That seat has a tilted backrest, cushioning, and adjustable settings to get users as comfortable as possible. There are also pulse sensors in the handlebars for a heart rate reading.

Then there is the body of the machine with the casing for the flywheel, a resistance knob, console area, and the second set of handlebars should you want to work in an upright position.

While this looks like a cheaper model for those with mobility issues and simple goals in mind, there are some nice features here.

You can take advantage of the bidirectional movement of the flywheel for a different impact on leg muscles, switch between 8 resistance levels, and make use of the data on the screen.

There are limitations to what this JLL RE200 can offer to users.

As with many cheaper bikes, the console is effective but nothing special. The screen is small and you have to manually switch between feeds. But, there is a tablet shelf if you want to watch TV and just work to a more flexible plan.

Another consideration here is that if this is bought for someone with an injury or disability, it is a good idea to offer some help getting it assembled. The pieces are heavy and it can take some effort to get everything working.

On that note, the shape and base of the machine also mean it will need a pretty large permanent home as it won’t fold and roll away for storage.

Could this JLL Recumbent Bike be helpful for your training sessions?

Overall, there are lots of positive comments from those that seem to be the intended target market for this bike. Those with knee issues or other mobility issues say they can use this in comfort and with ease to get fitter and stronger.

There are limitations in what it can do and it is certainly better in the recumbent mode than for upright cycling. But, the downsides with the console and assembly are worth it for the potential gains. The JLL exercise bike could prove to be a bargain for the right person.
